(CPV) – 4G LTE International Conference 2016 organized by Vietnam Internet Association and International Data Group IDG Vietnam opened on August 18th in Hanoi.
The development of 4G LTE plays a vital role in the era of the Internet of Things (IoT) happened in all over the world in general and in Vietnam in particular.
Under the theme “Leveraging 4G LTE potentials in the age of IoT”, the conference aims to update, discuss on both opportunities and obstacles encountered by the 4G LTE establishment and development roadmap in the country. It will introduce and evaluate best practices, appropriate management mechanisms as well as outstanding technology solutions for 4G LTE successful involvement via one keynote and two sessions.
Keynote session consists of discussions about deploying 4G LTE in Vietnam such as: Roadmap of deploying 4G LTE in Vietnam; Unleashing LTE potentials for Vietnam growth; Crucial considerations in deploying 4G LTE in Vietnam; and 1800 MHZ – Spectrum reframing key to LTE in Mobifone.
It also includes an Executive Talks focusing on the discussion of the overall planning, development phases of implementing 4G in Mekong sub-region countries with the participation of telecommunications leaders from Telecommunications Management Agencies, representatives from Qualcomm and consulting expert from Huawei.
Session 1 “Optimizing 4G LTE resources and infrastructure” lays emphasis on Policy of spectrum management in Vietnam in the period of 2016-2020; Technology evolution from LTE to 5G; Proposed solutions for 4G LTE network security and experience lesson for cost-effectively invested in 4G LTE.
While Session 2 “Monetizing opportunities over 4G LTE” focuses on some topics on Orientation of managing services enable over 4G LTE, Big data analytics for mobile operators, IoT solutions for smart city as well as new trends on mobile Internet.
The event welcomed more than 400 attendees who are experts and managers from local and international telecommunications companies, agencies providing technical infrastructure and solutions; companies providing digital content services; and media agencies.
Exhibitors such as VNPT, Mobifone, Viettel, OPPO, and CMC Telecom are expected to introduce state-of-the-art technology products and solutions in unique experience and insights in the present 4G LTE technology.
According to the report from Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA), by the end of the first quarter in 2016, the number of 4G LTE subscriptions reached 1.29 billion with the average of 2 million new subscriptions every day. Currently, the world has 503 network operators has been conducting commercial exploitation of LTE in over 167 countries as of June 5/2016 (according to statistics from the GSA).
In order to create a momentum for the development of 4G LTE, the National Program for Broadband Development until 2020 was approved by the Prime Minister of Vietnam in early 2016; with the main priority is to build broadband infrastructure which covers 3G/4G to 95% of the population by 2020.
According to the Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Mr. Phan Tam, the year 2016 is the good starting point time for 4G to start and 2017 will be the time for 4G to grow strongly.
